I have never come across this term until lately... Charlotte keeps "waking" up in the middle of the night to scream and no matter how much comforting she just keep on crying and sobbing... ask her whats wrong she cannot answer...
I was searching on Google and found the answer.... its Night Terror... its usually happen around the age of 2. Its like bad dream and stuff... the "ang mo" will hang dream catcher to ease the situation...
There are many reasons for night terror... they are people who say its a sign of sleep deprive... I think I will get night terror too! hahahha... Some say its lack of calcium, the kid is not getting enough milk... It might be the case for Charlotte. But she wasn't a milk baby to start with.
Some of the solutions include leaving a night light on, bring the "dreamy" child out of the room, make her wake up... but if she wake up it means no more sleep for us...got people suggest the best thing to do is not wake him up, just rub his back and try to get him to lay back down.
Saw this at the babycenter website: "When your child "wakes up" with a night terror, go in and check on him but don't speak to him or try to soothe him. Your child will resist being comforted and will appear confused and disoriented. Trying to soothe your child will only extend and intensify the sleep terror — even saying his name can make him more upset. Likewise, don't try to vigorously awaken him. He may think you are attacking him. Instead, just let the night terror run its course, and stand nearby to make sure your toddler doesn't hurt himself."
There is also a remark that this is a sign for future sleep walker! OMG... I rem I used to sleep walk when I am a child... My mum will have to secretly locked the door else I will walk out.. I was in denial when they told me... hahahahha...
I think before Charlotte outgrown the night terror, very soon I will get night terror too!
