His current eye wear is also a birthday present from me. But....there was once I sat on it with my bum..hahaha... can imagine the outcome.... So I proposed to buy him a new one as birthday present.
He get to choose his present this year. We went to a few shops but none fancy his eyes... until he saw this piece. His criteria is must be plastic and half frame. Picky loh... Today he wear his new eye wear to work...in the morning he tell me, this glasses hor, cannot bio mei mei... cos side glance is blocked by the thick frame. Too bad loh... :P

Ondeh Ondeh... its Orange colour!

Hahaha... my ondeh ondeh is orange in colour! Its the original colour without any added coloring! That the color of sweet potato! 100% real ingredients!

This morning saw in market sweet potato offer. So decided to try make ondeh ondeh... I make 2 types. 1 is the with coconut filling and the other with the gula malaka filling. I always like the coconut filling type, but its difficult to wrap. I think next round if I wanna try again have to make the coconut flakes less watery. The small ones are the bite size with gula malaka filling, like the one sold in Bagawang solo... But typical of me, my bite size is also very big in size and gula malaka in super big bite size too! Hahaha!

This is the 1st ball of ondeh ondeh I make! Of course its in my stomach now! Hahahah....
These balls of ondeh ondeh has to be boiled in water just like "tang yuan".... due to my lack of skill in wrapping, I had some problem keeping the juice from ozzing out! Hahaha... too much filling inside... those ozzing ones, I got my bro to stuff them into his stomach! ***wicked smile!
Ondeh ondeh are really filling, eat abt 3 pieces already bloated liao...hahaha... later I m going to bring these for Nick as his teabreak. :)

ondeh ondeh
Ingredients:
600 gm of steamed and mashed sweet potato
2 tbsp pandan juice
250 gm white coconut shreds (add 1/2 tsp of salt and steam)
150 gm tapioca flour
1 tsp green colour (if sweet potato used is orange in colour, omit the colouring)
3 tbsp brown sugar

Mixed mashed sweet potato, tapioca flour, sugar, pandan juice and knead into a dough. If dough is dry, you can add some water (a tbsp at a time) until dough is soft and not dry.

Pinch some dough and make into a small ball. Flatten it with your palm and put filling in it and wrap it up. Boil a pot of hot water.

When water boils, put the wrapped ondeh ondeh into the pot and let it cook. When ondeh ondeh floats to the top, the dough is cooked. Roll cooked ondeh ondeh in the steamed white coconut shreds.

Filling:
Either use 200 gm of gula melaka (cut into small pieces)
or
250 gm gula melaka
4 tbsp brown sugar
4 tbsp water
1 coconut w/o skin (shredded)
1/2 tsp salt
6 pcs pandan leaves (optional)
1 tbsp flour mix with 2 tbsp water

Boil gula melaka, sugar and water until all the sugar dissolve. Sift the mixture. Pour the shredded coconut into the sifted mixture. Add in salt and mix well. Pour in flour mixture and stir until well mixed. Leave aside to cool before using.

The world is damm freaky small

Ytd on my way back from work, it was raining heavily.... as I was driving off from office, realise the steering wheel keep slanting to one side... the 1st thought might be that the rain cause the wheel off balance??? Or maybe its time to do wheel balancing...

I din really take that seriously... back to my home carpark I forget to check on the tyres also... Only after I drove out again to pick Nick then I notice that the wheels is off balance too much liao... I check the wheel of my driver side, no problem. Got a shock when I saw the passenger side, 1/2 of the tyre is flat!!!!

I drove to the petrol kiok near my hse.... I tried to pump in the air but the tyre refuse to take the air... there was a taxi uncle trying to help by pressing the air pressure on the machine to 300! I told him "Uncle I dun need so high pressure!" then the uncle keep meddling with the machine... it getting on my nerves liao.... I tried on the other tyre it works lei..

Just at this moment, a guy who offer to help and explain that I have to choose the deflat function first then it can get the air in... we chatted and realize that he is driving a Vios too.... and he happen to be in the car forum too. I thanked him for the assistance and left.

When I met up with Nick, I told him my encounter. He say the guy who drove Vios sound like his class mate... so I gave him the description and Nick is pretty sure that it might be his classmate! So Nick sms his classmate to find out and the world is damm freaky small!!! It was indeed his classmate!!!!! Just the night before, I was still helping Nick and his classmates to book airticket! He was in that list! I have never seen his classmate before.

This is not the first time we have such experience! The last round is when me and wc and ws talking in MSN and wc mentioned that she make some money from unit trust in her cpf investment.

Although I already have a agent in the same company as the one she has... I m keen to meet up with her agent. Ws is keen too. So wc gave her agent our numbers and he called us immediately to fix appt. Nick did not went with me the first round when I meet up with wc's agent. After talking to this agent, I wanted Nick to meet him too to discuss his policy. We agreed to meet the following week.
Nick has mending the day before we meet this agent and just that evening, I told Nick the name of this agent and Nick got a shocked... He say this guy is his army fred and he was just talking to him that afternoon at the mending camp! Nick call this fred of his and disturb him that he wanna meet him the next day, which he has arranged to meet me. So after a while of fooling, Nick told him that we are actually couple and the world is so damm freaky small!
