Fireworks Festival 2007

Got 2 tickets through Nick's office to Sat Fireworks Festival 2007. The one we went was performed by the China team. We arrived at the floating platform at about 7pm. There are quite a number of stalls that sell food and stuff. As we walk through the stalls, I saw 2 big duckies walk pass us. I wanted to take a photo with it and we realised that they have a stall and need to pay money for taking photo with them. So an idea struck us, I try to stand very near and Nick took the picture for me. Hahaha... After a while, we saw the 2 duckies moving off on parade again, alot of ppl were trying to take photo of them. We tried to take with them too...hahahha...

At 8.30pm, announcement were made for ppl to get into their seat. We bought a can of super expensive coke and proceed to our seat. We thought the fireworks will start at 9.00pm sharp. We could see a lot of ppl standing by the hotel window waiting for the event. There were 2 emcees trying to warm up the event, but they failed terribly...hahha cos ppl simple not interested in what they were talking. They tried to get the audiences to do a human wave, the response was bad too...hahhaha... At 9.15pm they had the "go fly kites" team flying their lighted small crafts, same as the one for national day. Finally after the kites thingy, the fireworks start! A lot of ppl were screaming and cheering. It started with playing with lighting effects, so many big lamps on the floating platform that turn here and there, changing colours. I guess fireworks must be very expensive. That's why they play with the cheaper option first.hahha...Finally! The fireworks here!!! Lots of colours! Even got shape of china flowers?!? Hahaha,.... but really spectacular!!! A full 15 min fireworks that joined by 3 different songs. It worth the tickets!!!

I saw the balloon ladies also... kinda of funny why they are there, dun know wat they represent also. But it does add to the entertainment value ba, cos can take photo. Hahah... I saw some children trying to tear down the air-blowing cloth tube...I think the children must be bored to tears to do such an action. :P
I saw the mei hua fireworks! Hahah... represent China mar :PP

the fireworks is really awesome
but the crowd control and directions to the floating platform was really bad
we got misled by the guards at the esplanade entrance down the escalator from the citylink. in the end, we had to squeeze thru the "police stickers" to "cut" queue :P
coz there's a grp of humans stucked at the narrow passage way and after that the passage way was actually quite clear...
i saw the mei hua too! yeah man... i aint interested in the activities suggested by the 2 emcees :P

Hahah... i also think the crowd control is bad. The one for national preview, their crowd control is better. Maybe different organisation this time round. The car park at marina sq is equally bad. Never never park at marina sq if there is going to be an event nearby. Can vomit blood. We waited for about 1 hr to leave the car park.

i think on that day there were many others who couldnt make it to their seats. Cos i have abt 4 empty seats on our left, 2 on our right, 2 behind and about 7 in front of us!!! If im stucked there i'll probably curse and swear man, so near yet so far and the worst is can hear everything except seeing the show! hehee :)

yeah! u're soo rite!! we almost got stucked too!
there're 4 seats in front of me, empty.
there should have proper signages for ticket holders
they should have diverted the traffic there too! it's soo dangerous!

Hehe mine was Row 13, yellow seats. We used duno how many packets of tissue paper to wipe 6 seats hehee.. There's one auntie 2 rows in front of us, wow she was surely well prepared, we saw her taking out a dish cloth from her handbag to wipe the seats!!! Well prepared man..
