NJWedding Evening

We only get to rest about an hour plus before we start preparing for the wedding banquet.

Our guests arrived quite early. About 30% arrived around 7pm. We had our solemization in a separate function room. So we invited the guests to join us for the ceremony. I have to say the solemization ceremony will forever stay in a deep memories in both Nick and my heart. Because we were funny!!!!! For the start, JP Chan was very "zhuang yan" and he say although the crowd is a lot...but during such as sacred event, we should only have each other in our eyes. He made the introduction in Chinese and the following in English. He ask Nick to reply loudly to his qn. But I think Nick nervous. He reply the first 2 times quite soft and was made to shout his answer by JP...Hahaha....

Next is me...I am funny .... when the JP say "now the bridegroom take the ring" I turn to my maid of honour, WS and ask for her.... Cos I panick...I thought JP was asking for the tradional, bestman and bridemaid to pass the ring to us!.... Nick saw me calling for WS, he also blur...until JP look at him and say "U are the bridegroom" and turn to me say "not the bridesmaid"! Ops...I was so paisei...this send the whole room laughing their heads off!

As Nick put on the ring for me, I felt that the ring was a bit loose! ....Actually why I was so blur in the 1st part of the ceremony, because I was looking at the rings. I am worried that we might take the wrong ring. Just as my fear....Nick actually took his rings and put on me...Hahaha... So I thought since ours is different by 1 size, it should be ok. It was until I put the other ring for him, I cant push in, it was stuck at the knuckle! No choice! I turn to the JP and say "sorry wrong ring!" Hahaha... then I took out mine and put on him, then he took the other one and put on me...Hahahah... We were funny rite! But the overall event, apart from the funny part. Both of us are very touched!!! The JP say according to the Woman Law in Singapore, woman are being proected and he hand over the marriage cert to me and say "u must keep this in ur hand" Hahaha... This send the crowd laughing away.

We managed to take some picture before the banquet start. We planned a surprise element. The emcee announced the guests to stand and welcome us. Then my cousin walk in with a CD, its a pre-recorded video of us saying that we wont be joining the banquet as we are flying off to honeymoon after the reception. This does leave some elderly wondering...but its din manage to fool most of the youngsters and they can tell its a gimick! As the song hype ... we march in with our pretty flower girls, a pair of pretty twins, Joey and Cheryl, Nick's nieces.

The main highlight of the banquet is the 2nd march in. Our emcee, Vera is a singer for this song "爱你无限". The lyrics was co-written by Vera and Me. I made a dedication of this song to Nick. Vera and me hold hands and march in as Vera sang the song! Vera and Me were striking as I m dressed in bright blue and Vera in bright red!

As Vera finish her song, she requested that Nick should do something in return! Nick appear from another entrance with his song "老鼠爱大米"!!! This send the crowd cheering in the background.

Nick joined me on stage as he finished his song. We had the poping of champage and pouring ceremony followed by the traditional Yum Seng! Really have to thanks his Yum Seng party, made up of his army troop! Hahah.... They were really loud and strong!!! It definetly show the power of army men (not boys liao) hahaha...

The most touching part of the banquet would be the Thank you speech. Nick started by Thanking my parents for raising me and let me marry him! He promised to them that he will take good care of me....Hahah... This send the crowd cheering... And next to his brother group for the effort...someone in the background say "Wat about the old ones!" (cos the bro group all young men!) hahaha... and finally he said some words to me "Thank for putting your trust in me...and marry me.... I love U" This send the whole room cheering!!!

I made my speech, thanking the guests for coming. I thanks my parents, relatives and Nick's parents and relatives for giving us the support. Next I thank my sister groups, they were standing in 1 row at the end of the room. As I thank them, they shouted "Soo Lin, we all love u!" I replied back "I love u all too!" I said something special to Nick "未来的路也许会有风有雨，我相信我们一定会携手开心的度过每一天。" Lastly I thank Richie and Icicle Music Production team, emcee, Vera and Kelvin. The whole of Icicle Music Production team was great and both Nick and myself were really touched. We thank them for the effort and make this night a very memorable one!

Last but not least, we went around for table tossing. We thank the guests for coming. Nick was made to drink quite a lot. But his brother group, tua Kang and ah Phang were really great! They helped Nick with most of the drinking. They snatched the drink and bottom like gold fish! Hahaha... And not forgetting Shawn, who is like a blood brother to him. Shawn was feeling so touched and happy for Nick. Both of them requested for some private moments to talk....(at this point of them, both already 1/2 gone) hahahha.... Actually in the begining part, those drink in our glass that look like hard liqor were actually tea!!!! Nice trick by the resturant manager, Thomas! Hahaha... We managed to fool some of the guests but not all...hahhaha... Happy ocassion always celebrated with drinks.... ahhaha... I was made to drink some red wine too... I m happy to obligate. Joey and Surin help me to drink some too!

The night ended with sending our guest back, big family photos and sending our parents back.... some of the close friends and relatives stay behind for more drinks! I was the sober one...I faster settled the stuff while there r still helpers around. I went to settle the bill, ask the Daniel and a few guys to help carry the balance red wine to the car boot. Ask Weishien and a few girls to carry those items back to the room. Hahah.... after which... Nick was being helped back to the room by his cousin-in-law. Hahah... he already gone case liao!!!... I thanks the helpers and everyone of my sister group for the help they have rendered. We got a friend who get so drunk that the guys have to really "tai" him into Daniel car...Hahhaa...

After that I went back to the room and saw a drunkard Nick...Hahah... He cousin in law was worried that I m not able to take care of him. I assurred him that the situation is much better than what I had imagined. Hahha... Its very kind of them to stay back and insist that I should take my shower while they looked after him. After that I send them back, I stayed up to pack the stuffs and sleep at 2am with a smelly hubby (cos he din bath) hahhaa... Who says wedding nite is romantic?!?!? Hahahaha......

The next day, we woke up quite early as Nick was keen to find out wat happen...Hahha... at least I get to eat breakfast!!!! Yeah!!!! We both enjoyed ourselves on our big day! Must say a BIG BIG thank you to our sisters and brother group for helping us with the occasion! And also to Kelvin Ho, the man behind the screen. He is my videographer who has been sweating since morning till night! Hahah... running around to capture the best footage. Thanks Bro!

One more thing I must blog it down! My buddy, Surin! 1st time in after 11 yrs, we finally see her in a dress and fully "transformed" into a lady! Hahah... dun be mistaken, she is a 100% woman, just that previously she dun like to wear skirt. She took special effort to comb half the China for this dress! Surin, U look great in this! Thanks Gal! For making the special appearance in this dun know leopard or giffra print...Hahaha....
