The report is on how a mother managed to get her child into one of the "young" estate; punggol.... and in the interview, they interview a few center and the comments was there are alot on waiting list... some KS parents even put their unborn child on waiting list! as early as 5 month preggy! Terrible... There are comments that there is a terrible shortage of childcare and infant care slot in the newer estate such as Punggol and Sengkang...
Of which... on my previous entry I was considering one of the infant care at Sengkang which is near my parents place... its a normal infant care run by "my first skool" which is NTUC based. Then the report say there are as much as 100 on waiting list! OMG! which mean I must really pampered my maid b4 she decided to go back to her kumpung and I will have a big problem sia!
Then just as this morning, the in charge of the childcare center call me... cos I previously send them an inquiry email. I ask if really there are 100 on Q... she say 100 is inclusive of both childcare and infant care... I ask abt infant care... she say currently 8 in the Q... my response is "that's not so bad" then she got no response... maybe 8 is bad enough! kekekek...
I ask them about the activities...she say basically is the necessity like feeding and sleeping... cos infant not really mobile... hmmm... when baby is more mobile then they can join in activities like music and movement, play group and stuff... She say she will put me on waiting list and contact me when there is a slot... also they dun run half day session, they will charge full day course fee, but I can put baby there for half day....
Then I just leave my contact... and will see how... on a separate note... I was thinking... if there are 100 on Q and of which 8 belongs to infant group... that mean 92 are q for childcare!!!! That's terrible man! Does that means that I have to start q-ing now for childcare as I have plans to put Charlotte to childcare at the age of 2...
Singapore is having low birth rate, yet its hard to get a slot in childcare...funny lei...

the problem is the childcare is not even a "famous" one... its just any neighbourhood childcare... damm scary! How to start a childcare huh? I think it has great potential... or can invest.,...hahhaha....
I'm also quite puzzled why there's not enough childcare slots when birth rate is low. My friend told me neighbourhood pri sch also need to ballot. Think I have to start parent volunteer to get a place liao.
During my poly sch days, my ambition was to set up a childcare centre. Looks like I have foresight but not easy. Need a lot of capital & "good" manpower.

92 on waiting list i guessed it's not s bad s the childcare near my plc....my ex-colleague was put on waiting list for 2yrs before she got her kids in that school....imagine waiting for 2 whole yrs....but i guessed the sch must b really good coz i saw parents from other areas bringing their kids over...oso duno for wad travel so far when there's 1 so near them...haizzzz making ppl like us staying near wana put our kids s near to hm s possible hv to wait so long
jialat... i'm actually joining in the "worry-group" for KS parents liao..cannot believe it ... last night i'm actually thinking about which primary school to live near to etc! Guess that getting a maid is inevitable since other options are still so limited.
Low birth rate yet no place for childcare..ironic! anyone want to start a childcare center together? sure good money...hahaha...

ya loh... now I think I really have to "swollow" till charlotte can go childcare... I start counting, we are like less than 12 mths to the 18mth where she can go childcare... and if there are 92 on the q... then siao liao...
