She is constantly on paracetamol and the brufen I have at home is expired. Does anyone know if I can get brufen off the shelf at any pharmacy?
I have been reading on the MMR jab since Charlotte turn 1... I purposely choose to delay her MMR jab and choose the MMR instead of MMRV.... I know MMR is compulsory but the side effect is like myth... but still I decided to delay her MMR injection.
Yesterday when her fever shoot up to over 38.5, I got panic and the GP near my place was not open... We put her in the water bath tub and she was enjoying refuse to get up! She must be thinking how come mummy so nice to let her play water...
I also went online to read up on the side effect of MMR jab. The fever will come 5 to 7 days after the jab and can go as high as 39. Some mummies complain that its the worse jab... There are cases where the fever get uncontrolled and turn into seizure. Not to be taken lightly. I know some article advocate not using medication unless it get into really high fever... But I think controlling fever is very important.
Today morning her fever still at 38 and after the paracetamol, she is under control now... Hope that the fever go away soon.

Yup...I also delay giving Travis the jab until he is much older. Heard MMR could also lead to autism but dunno how true it is. If she is still active, den juz observe the temp. U gotta worry if she is lethargic instead. I normally get my paracetamol & brufen over the counter at the GP den no need to queue to see doc. Of coz if u wan peace of mind den no harm bring Charlotte see PD.

Jannie, the MMR latest is 2 yr old lei... Travis haven take MMR? I already drag until very long le... hahahha...
Denson had his MMRV 2nd jab last week.. was stupid enuff to agree to let him take his booster at the same time.. so last tue n wed was already having fever... recovered.. ytd his body warming up again..
omg! Hope Denson's fever goes away soon... Its tiring taking care of a feverish kid... constantly taking temp... they can still run and scream... very hard to tell how bad is the fever... Nowaday charlotte refuse to take medicine... feed medication = screaming... I notice her mouth got 2 ulcers... guess its over heaty as well... U might want to try give Denson "ling yang"... I just gave Charlotte some today to "press down" her temp.
hopefully the MMRV fever is not too bad.. i got ling yang at home... consolation is Denson tink taking med is part of everyday routine.. so not too bad.. just need to b slightly dramatic to tell him the med is yummy.. :(
Hahahha... We always tell charlotte its super yummy! But this ger refuse to believe us... she dun even like to take her vitamin... there is once I even eat to show her and she simple refuse to take... end up forcing her! hahahha... But she is quite a chinese medicine ger... she enjoy taking those bitter black powder stuff like "jing feng san"... and she will even say its YUMMY.... As she is having ulcer now, we apply those gel stuff and send her screaming away... but when I apply the "zhen zhu fen" which is black powder... she willingly open her mouth!

he is on TCM recently due to his cough n flu.. 2nd time on TCM.. first time send him flying off n screaming his head off... this time i m quite surprised.. he looked at it n open his mouth.. face kiu until like prune but he still open for 2nd spoon.. so far 3 dosage successfully administered...

yes, MMR is a terrible jab!! the worst jab for shayna so far!
and the side effects she had was exactly like what dr warned us.. 1 week, kena fever (highest 39), then 3 to 4 weeks later kena fever again (but this time not as high).
Joey (donkeymami)'s Jovia and Serene (PJPJ)'s jeremiah also kena..
I always thought it was becos of the V in the MMRV that caused all these side effects.. now i know, its the MMR that is the culprit!
btw mummies, this is 1st or 2nd MMR jab ler? we delsyed fr Jan till now then administer the 2nd jab..
take jab oso need to see date n time.. sianz... need to plan properly so tha the following week we dont hav anything plan for then can go for the jab..
Jer, I tink I delayed much later den 2yrs old for Travis to take the jab leh. Dunno got limit one. The doc still inject for him also & didnt say much.
Joyce, I let charlotte took separate jabs as in 1 time for the chicken pox (V) and 1 time for the MMR. Not aware of the MMR need to take 2 jabs...

Charlotte fever comes on Sat evening and by Monday evening its gone... some small rashes come out and I read from web its say its normal. But she is super cranky, this cannot, that cannot! Keep saying NO NO NO! Plus the super hot weather, it really gets on my nerves! Just now she refuse to get out of her bath, refuse to wear clothes... and keep screaming and shouting till I blew my top and lock her in the room alone! This ger needs to ganna some color to wake up!
1st bout lasted for about 3 to almost 4 days of 38.5 (highest).. then 2nd bout one or two days only..
for shayna, other than fever and diarrhoea (during 1st bout) no other symptoms, thank GOd. PJPJ's Jeremiah had false measles along with it..
My boy took MMRV instead,, i hate it to the max la... 1st and 2nd dose he also kanna high fever, 40.8c :(
omg! so the MMRV actually has 2 doses to it? ... I choose to let charlotte take V and MMR separate... V was ok... just mile fever over a day... MMR is the worse... high fever, rashes and super cranky till wanna drive her mother go crazy kind.
Yeah there is one more of mmr.. Dreading it
