Hong Kong Trip Nov 2011

Hong Kong trip ~ 3 to 7 Nov 2011

Charlotte’s first airplane experience! Hahhaha… At the airport via the viewing gallery she was already in a super excited mode when she saw the big airplane in front of her. All ready to board the plane. Before the plane took off, I was telling her that later the plane will run run run and fly!...hahahhaha mother way of coaxing the kid in case she get scared by the loud engine sound (we are seated near the wing).... When the sound gets louder, I told her "U see airplane is running!" And she got super excited and both arm doing the running action....
She din sleep throughout the flight both to and fro.... unlike my friend's ger, Reina who had enjoyed sleeping on flight! hahahha... Disneyland experience is great for the girls... Charlotte simply refuse to move when she first see the big Mickey and Minnie in Disneyland! Guess they enjoy the trip more than us... We upgraded our Disneyland entry to 2 days and the morning part was too hot to walk around, thus we went to the famous shopping outlets... din really see anything that fancy... guess all these branded stuff is really not my cup of tea... We stayed in Hollywood hotel and thanks to a reading on a blog last minute before the trip; we book for breakfast at Disneyland hotel for a "breakfast with Mickey and Friends" 200+ HKD... As we were making the payment at the counter, Nick asked " Woh so ex, the food nice a not?" My classic reply "Food I dun know, but I know the girls would go crazy" and indeed!!! The girls were going crazy over goofy and Mickey Mouse who made their rounds at the breakfast... The food is not bad also... just that I guess we were a bit busy in getting the waitress to ask the "animals" to come over for the girls (cos we were a bit late and its changing shift session"... Luckily the restaurant allows us to stay beyond our session... guess going on a weekday help too! (cos not much people).
Charlotte is not really a fan of goofy but after the trip, all day long she keep saying goofy, goofy... and she would point to her left cheek and make a painful expression when she sees Pluto... because just as we were leaving the restaurant, we wanted to let the kids touch Pluto... and some inconsiderate people where there pushing and when the Pluto stand up from the squatting action, think his ear or nose rub into Charlotte face and she was very unhappy about it.
Overall, I think the Disneyland trip and the breakfast is worth it... cos even after a week from the trip, she is still reminded of the nice memories of Disneyland... And we managed to catch quite a no of shows inside Disneyland as well... First time seeing 4D show for all of us! hahahhaha.... The flying dumboo, spinning cups and the merry go round carousel is a fond memory for us as we used to take this as kids....
We went to Lantau Island to see the Big Buddha which till now charlotte still going on and on about seeing Big Buddha! Hahahha… The trip to Tai O was short but a nice sight of the kampong looking place which still existing in the cosmopolitan Hong Kong.  We kinda regret taking the package tour to visit the wax museum and the Stars Avenue cos of the mad rush… I guess we enjoy taking our own sweet time with our always changing plan… It’s good to be prepared with information and ready to swap itinerary when the need arises.  Although I have been to Hong Kong 10 years back , nothing much changes… the woman street still look the same except more crowded with tourist (ang mo, PRC)…. And I am quite surprise to see the Ang Mo has also grown smarted in term of bargaining… hahahhahah…. This time round, we manage to try new things like taking their very local and classic ferry to “cross sea”…. Just like the Hong Kong drama we always see!
A short 5 days trip, in fact only about 4 days of fun! The girls were adaptable, eating what’s available, traveling all day long, even like eat dinner at 9pm, shopping at Woman Street till 11pm! Hahahhahaha. They sleep in the stroller when tired… sit in the stroller most of the time is something that is quite a relief for us! Hahahhah….  I din really expense a lot of “Bibi-na” and biscuit that I was armed… Hahahha…. I have added one more tips to bring kids for trip~ which is keep them constantly full (cos charlotte will go cranky when she is hungry) ahhahahhahah..

i think depends which day you go... we went on a thursday and friday... Thursday was ok cos not much people and the q not very long... Friday was quite bad... a lot of tourist mostly hk ppl and PRC... One thing to note abt Disneyland, I was not aware until after I came back. A friend of my father who went around the same time as us, 2 children in their tour group went missing in Disneyland...and they say the news is not blowing big cos its quite common and bad for branding... Just becare and keep close look out for kids... A lot of kidnappers I think.

i heard a lot of kidnapping news regarding disneyland. but i cannot find anything on the net so i think it was more like hearsay.

my frens were saying the PRC like to push and jump Q so spoil their fun.

Yeah, alot if prcs whose idea of queueing is send one rep to queue. When its their turn, the whole bus load of them turns up. Or they just dun queue.
